As a beacon of creativity and learning in Greenville, South Carolina, The Children's Museum of Upstate Bib's World stands out as a vibrant and engaging play area for the local community. The vision for this remarkable space originated from a dedicated group of mothers who envisioned a top-tier, play-based educational environment for young children in the Upstate region of South Carolina. With expansive locations in both Greenville and Spartanburg, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate (TCMU) proudly holds the title of being one of the largest children’s museums globally and holds the prestigious distinction of being the first children’s museum recognized as a Smithsonian Affiliate.
Since its opening in 2009, TCMU-Greenville has provided over 80,000 square feet of immersive play-based learning opportunities for children aged 0-12, featuring a diverse array of 30 unique exhibits spanning the realms of arts, science, health, transportation, the environment, and beyond. Through purposeful, intentional, and accessible play-based learning experiences, TCMU is dedicated to nurturing young minds into empathetic and innovative problem solvers.
In their quest to create an accessible, inviting, and enriching play environment, TCMU turned to Superior Shade for assistance. The installation of two Square Hip Shades, each varying in height and adorned with True Blue fabric and a Yellow-colored frame, not only added a visually appealing touch but also served a practical purpose. These shading structures effectively shielded children from harmful UV rays, offered a cool respite from the sun's rays, and prevented play equipment from becoming uncomfortably hot, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
The choice of True Blue fabric and Yellow frames not only seamlessly complemented the existing blue and yellow color scheme of the children's museum but also added a touch of sophistication and flair. The vibrant hues harmonized perfectly with the playful and energetic atmosphere that defines TCMU, creating a visually appealing and inviting space for young minds to explore and learn.
