The square hip shade structure is the most versatile and economical shade on the market. Sizes range in 2 foot increments from 8 feet to 60 feet.
One of the most economical ways to provide shade to a playground, park, or pool space is to incorporate a square or rectangular hip shade structure. Our square shade units come in widths between 8 ft. and 60 ft. and offer excellent sun protection. Standard sizes are available with surface or in-ground mounting and your choice of 8 ft., 10 ft., or 12 ft. entry eave heights. What's more, you can customize your shade colors with our collection of powder-coated frame and fabric colors.

Coastal or Northern Customers
For customers in coastal areas or northern climates, we recommend adding our optional Glide Elbow™ fabric tensioning accessory. Not only does this accessory makes it easier to install and tension your fabric, but it also makes it easier to remove the fabric in the event of bad weather. Remove fabric before bad weather, such as heavy snow or hurricanes, to protect the shade's fabric and frame. Our frames are rated for wind gusts up to 150 mph when the shade's fabric is removed.
